There are a few different ways to deal with zombies. Starting with trapping a mob spawner which keeps him content with all the other hostile mobs. Now we are going to deal with spiders. They are small and they can fit through half slabs. You need a sword and armor (mostly diamond)- you mostly have to use these really great specimens when you fight Witherbosses or cave spiders.
I am not going to name all the mobs but I am going to end this by talking about a snow gollum. They might not be the most useful thing, but who wouldn't like a snowball hurl all year round?
